Yep that bit was easy. Needed almost no tweeking on my 11x

Thanks for the offer but I was ordering some longer servo links this morning so I've put the 450Pro pitch thing on the order as well.

OK now it does say something about that on the vbar screen, but I was a bit confused by it. I've ordered the pitch gauge so once that arrives I can go back to using my pitch gauge and the way I understand it all. I only have Vbar Express so can't use the measured pitch settings. Once I know I've got the required pitch I'll look into ATV. When I fold the blades at mid stick I can get them to line up with a click or two on the collective boxes. But even then my eyes are telling me the blade grips aren't spot on level with the head.

Serves me right, the TT360 is a mix of parts from Phoenixtech and Rave. There aren't any lengths for the links so I've been given some that worked from someone else that's done the conversion and I'm not convinced they work perfect with my setup of servos. I'll get there eventually

Oh one other thing. Can I use DR and Expo just like I would if I had a flybar setup? Say I get it to the field and it's too responsive for me can I just dial down the DR and expo like I do now?

Hey Pete, as far as I remember you don't set DR or expo in the TX. I may be wrong though.......

The 450 Pro links as per the manual were incorrect, I wouldn't worry about link length as you use whatever gets you good geometry. If you fancy bringing it round I would be happy to help set it up. You can test it though! Lol. I have a pitch guage etc.

you can set expo in the tx BUT if you do ,don't duplicate it in the V bar program .

Didn't realise you could set it in vbar as well. Will have a look.

By moving the agility slider in the software Pete that will slow down or speed up response

One other thing to consider is, is the heli you have a FBL heli or have you added a FBL head to the existing heli?

Maybe that the geometry is not ideal for FBL, look at the 6HV for example. When they released that it did not have good geometry for the servos so a new set of frames were needed which altered the position of them. Could be that as well thats not helping things?

OK so the maiden was today. Did not go well

Everything seemed to work fine and after flying around a bit I decided to try a flip, expecting it to be much easier than on the FB one. Anyway long story short the tail kicked a few times, there was odd noise like the head speed changing and then a fairly swift dive towards the earth with pretty much no control. Anyway the damage was reasonably minimal, one blade, main shaft, servo horn and probably feathering shaft. But I think I know why it was. The one way bearing sleeve has shattered into several pieces. When I turned the gear it had vertical play as it wasn't attached anymore and turned freely, but if I pushed the gear up then it grabbed the bits left of the sleeve like teeth.

So I think the sleeve shattered, which meant that it didn't have drive all the time as the gear moving up and down pulsed it, which would explain why the tail just seemed to kick a couple of times in different directions as the gyro tried to hold the heading and failed. But then I think I lost more control probably due to vibration which meant I couldn't even level it up. I'm guessing it just upset the vbar as the heli just seemed to have a mind of it's own and did what it felt like not what I was trying to do.

This is the third sleeve now that's failed on me, this is the first one that gone in flight causing a crash but the third to go never the less. Luckily the heli landed in a large pile of chopped down tree branches so not much damage I guess considering how high it fell from.

So that ones grounded after 2 mins of flying time

Stick it on the 450 mate, works so well on that.

Na I'm sticking with the TT360/Rave. Just need to order the Rave sleeve and some new servo horns and try again

Rachels right, you can setup the vbar along with the smack talk video, only takes around 20-30 mins, after you suddenly realise that its so easy

                        OK update on this.

Maiden 2 didn't go well as I found I had really bad tail wag, in fact it was all over the place, not even a wag as such. So I gave up ( it was too cold for my fingers anyway ) and went back to the bench. Setup the tail again with a longer servo horn and re-setup the limits and got them all in the green area rather than maxed out. Also upped the gain in the TX.

So just been out again this lunch and put a couple of packs through it before I got too cold. All I can say is WOW. The TT360 turns into a bit of a monster when it's FBL. I'm only on vbar express but it's pretty stable but lively at the same time. Easy enough to tame that down a bit more with some more DR and expo so will spend some time doing that. By god though this thing is fast now! It eats up the sky so fast I found myself getting uncomfortable with how far away it ended up on a couple of turns.

One interesting thing is it's a lot more responsive to pitch, but at the same time seems to need more pitch to hold a hover. Bit bizarre that one.

So is FBL worth the effort... Dunno yet, need some more stick time first but it is fun having a heli that flies so big, and yet is still a 450 ish sized heli

It really is very good in FBL form. I just need to tweak a few things to my liking and then I'll give it some more flight time. I'm going to have to get used to it being so quick though, that'll be the biggest issue.

Well I found out the tail hub grub screw wasn't on the flat of the tail shaft last night so it could spin, that could be the cause of the last issue I had with the tail, and a vibration I had noticed when first going into a hover. Hopefully it'll warm up before lunch so I can give it another go
