  • bumped muffler

Had a bit of a hard landing today, one of the screws in the tail assembly came loose and my tail went nuts. Luckily I was only about 1 meter above and landed on wet grass, so damage was quite small: only stripped torque tube gears and front landing skid broken. I also noticed the skid on its way up has made a bump in the muffler (from the ring to put the antenna tube if not using a 2.4 system). See attached photo:

I suppose it's OK to continue using it, right? just a bump, doesn't seem to have made a hole or anything.

It's fine, seen worse that that flying ok. Just see if it rattles 'cos it may have moved a baffle but I think they're in the back section.

That should be fine mate. Seen a whole lot worse. Can even try to get it out if you really want to. Remove the pipe, fill it with water and put it in the freezer. The water will expand and if lucky the dent will pop out.

thanks. I've taken the muffler out and doesn't rattle when shaking it, so I'm assuming everything is fine
