  • Turnigy 6s 2650mah and ice100 30 second flight time!

    Hi,

I flew my logo 400 yesterday, and used mainly 3300mah lipos, and was getting about 7 minutes with them. I then tried some heliguy 2600mah lipos and I was getting about 4-5, which I am ok with. However, when I tried with my turnigys (2650mahs), the LVC of the ice 100 esc would do its thing and the heli would start loosing power after about 15 seconds of hovering. I had no problem with these packs on my protos with an ice 100lite esc. The cut off amp thing is set to insensitive.

Does anyone have any ideas (if my question makes any sense )?

    Thanks

It cuts off when it sees a low voltage, not amps. I presume there was something wrong with the pack...

... You sure it was definitely charged ?

Yes it was charged - I tried with 2 packs, both turnigy so it's not the pack.

What is the voltage of LVC set to?

Check the logs to see what the voltage is sagging to under load.... It may be that the turnigy packs aren't up to the task.

As above you are confusing two different things regarding the insensitive setting - that is in regards to current not voltage.

The LVC control is set to auto. I have uploaded the log, but as a pdf as it wont allow me to upload the csv file. Just change the file extension to .csv and it should work

            Thanks

I'm just about to take a look at the logs, but I don't think there is an "auto" setting from memory... You can have cell count as auto, but the LVC voltage per cell has to be specified iirc.

iv had this same problem with a different heli and ESC but what u describe is exactly what mine was doing it turned out to be the lipo setting in the ESC it had changed to 4s instead of 3s so as soon as heli got going after 10 seconds the LVC would come down like a hammer, check ur ESC lipo selection if it is in auto try manually selecting the amount of cells ur using i did that and it fixed mine hope this helps

                regards simon

Your voltage never goes much below 22.4 which is about 3.7 per cell... Check your settings but I imagine since you don't know anything about it, it's probably still on the default 3.0v cut off.

I would suggest taking the advice above... Manually set 6 cells rather than leaving it in auto detect and see if that solves the problem.

I think I've found what might be the problem - it was on 3.7v cutoff - I'll change it to 3.2v which seems to be the default.

                    Thanks#

                      Yeah 3.2 will be fine.

                      Glad we found the problem.
