  • gyro / rx mounting foam

    hi all,

any idea where is the best place to get some of the mounting foam that has sticky tape to each side of it? I have just got a couple of new gyros in the post and neither came with mounting foam.

    cheers

if they are futaba gyros use the futaba gyro mounting plate. i prefer to wrap my rx's up in some soft padding like pipe lagging.

Best stuff I've found is from Halfords. Its double-sided sticky foam intended for mounting number plates. It comes in either 1mm or 6mm thicknesses. The 6mm stuff is perfect for gyros, and the 1mm stuff for servos in small fixed wing models.

You don't want your number plates dropping off, so I think you can assume its pretty strong stuff! I've been using it on gyros for a year now, without any problems. Seems to have exactly the right amount of "sponginess" as well......
