  • how much expo do u guys use?

I've tried all sorts i suppose the sensitivity depends on wot tx your using so maybe value's are irrelevant but i suffer big time from thumb interaction, i find it very hard to shove in a stick command without moving into the diagonal zone and when u add in my bloody thumb shake i'm terrible, I'm at present using -30 on a futaba tx but i cant help thinking that's a lot, wot do u guys use that have no fear and thumb shake lol.

expo isnt going to fix this problem only stop you noticing it so much.

you might be better to go the other way and make it sensitive to train your thumbs out of it.

also are you using thumbs only?

    tried stiffening the stick springs?

Sometimes I think it wouild be good to have a little bit of deliberate and accurate deadband in the centre of the right stick and the rudder stick. this would take out unintended movementsof the coupled control.
Having previously flown mode 1 with fast low wingers mainly (a long time ago), my stick movements are a bit interactive.
Stiffening up the springs and the throttle friction have helped a lot.

In the end to get the manoevres perfect you will need a little bit of correction in the other axes...

MMMmmm! cheers Ade i did wonder if expo was helping me cus i tend to fly better with less, i'm not keen on a dull stick so to speak but like i say i really need to work on "training my thumbs" I fly with thumbs only and i am suffering a little with my cheap futaba t6ex 2.4ghz because there's hardly any spring resistance there, i've opened the back up and to me it looks like there is no option for tightening the springs which would be a massive benefit.

I tightened the springs on my dx7 for the same reason it helped alot but mainly i tried to train my thumbs out of the habit on the sim

Actually if anything -30% is near perfect on a futaba transmitter, you see because servos outputs are non-linear (turning a rotational movement into a linear movement) you get more movement near the middle of the stick than at the extremes.

So.... what you want to do is have expo in there to compensate for this, and the magic number is -27% on futaba, and +27% on JR.

The expo curve at -27% and the servo output curve cancel each other out, giving a nice straight line responce to the stick movement.

If anything -30% is in effect only about -3 to -4% expo.

            To expand the theme.......

Dont bother with the tail though as the gyro takes care of that, also the pitch curve if set up right with a pitch gauge will not be 0 25 50 75 100, but closer to 0 30 50 70 100, which will give a nice linear output on the pitch.

Throttle just set it up to keep the engine constant as engines dont produce power in a linear fashion anyway.
