  • Help with new li-po batteries

Hi, i've just recieved my new Overlander li-po's but there seems to be a problem with them.

The batteries are Overlander 1s 3.7v 175mAh which can be found in the MRS-X heli. I'm using the standard USB charger to charge them but they aren't holding any charge.

The first charge cycle took an hour or so for the red l.e.d to go out. So i connected it up in the heli, took off and within 30 seconds the batteries died, both did the exact same thing.

So i put them back on charge and the red l.e.d was lit but was dim, not as bright as usaul and within 5mins the l.e.d was out again! Do these sound duff batteries? Do you think i need a proper li-po charger for these? The stock battery is 1s 3.7 150mAh so i thought the charger should be up to the job as the batteries are only 25mAh bigger.

    Thanks,

    Jason

The charger should still charge them would just take slightly longer being higher mah rating. I would say they are probably duff. Strange that they are both the same though. I'd try and swap them for new ones and see if you have better luck. I'm no expert and haven't seen the charger in question as i have the old msr, so don't just take my word for it!

      Thanks for the reply.

I spoke to my local model shop today, who also stocks Overlander batteries, and they said the last batch of these they had in, a lot of them were faulty and had to send quite a few back.

So iv sent mine back to Overlander today who were happy to exchange them for me

The guys at Overlander are very good, I had a few 450 packs that were not holding charge and they shipped two straight back to me.

        Cheers
