  • How many gallons through your 50 hyper before bearings go?

I've seen a lot of people having issues with bearings on their hypers and was wondering if there's any common factor.

How many gallons have you put through your 50 hypers and on what machines with what fuel before the bearings have died?

I've put 7 through my 600n running at 19,250rpm on the engine with the bearings still running nice and smooth, running Magnum 30%. My hyper is Align branded with the Align exhaust, I don't believe it's different to a standard hyper...

I have only ever changed one set of bearings on my 2 hypers and that was after many many gallons of use in several models...

I did read somewhere that Szabo said he replaced bearings after 100hours of running time on average,it was in a heli mag but cant remember which one

I am flying harder than ever now but both of my 600N`s that had the engine bearings replaced prior to their first flights are both fine still

If I get an engine to last long enough for the earings to go I'll let you know. LOL

I've voted for the last option: Still going strong after 10 gallons.
I've changed a few back bearings over time, but not a significant number to be worried about it, and I certainly get plenty of flying per bearing set - more that 10 gallons worth anyway!

        Cheers,

lol, reason I asked this is because I know a hell of a lot of people getting less than 3 gallons from their hypers and they've got em all tuned properly.

              I've run my hypers in a Raptor 50, a Sceadu Evo 50 and now a Trex 600n.

I also have one in a Knight 3D but it is currently sat on a shelf having only had 8 tanks through it from new. It will be back in the air again shortly after this weekend - when I have a little more time to give to it to get it sorted out

              Cheers,

I have had a Knight fail once in flight and a 600E fail 3 times due to powertrain problems,,,bashed the Knight but managed to get the 600 down undamaged

These are in flight failures, not bashes into the deck . Upped rex to 2 because I had one blade grip failure after I didn't replace it in a previous blade breaking crash and one due to my rubbish design of flybarless head popping off links .

Pls note, electrical failures on the rx system don't count
