anyone have any experience with these folks? I am getting quite interested in micro flight but not sure where to start looking really, and they look interesting...

Mario is notorious in micro-heli flying circles. Basically he claims to have done everything that has ever been done within the field first, but not actually ever managed to produce credible evidence to support it.

The typical scenario would be that he spends several weeks on RCGroups telling everyone he has an imminent new product coming that never does. Someone else will put a thread up with an idea or innovation in micro-heli-flight, only for Mario to then say he'd already done it and it's what he'd been working on all along. Once or twice you could buy it, but everytime, over and over, with nothing to back it up but a few scetchy photo's??

He has been banned from RR several times (mind you these days who hasn't), one of those occasions was a few years ago mid-thread in an argument with me when I didn't buy into his BS!!

Years ago there was a guy called John Kallas who was well respected, and also very vocal in saying he could never get any of the heli's he got from Mario to fly without heavy modding.

Having said all this things may have changed now, so you might have more luck.

Personally, I would spend some time reading the threads about micro-heli's on RCGroups to get a few ideas. There are some really clever guys over there once you get used to filtering the rubbish. I used to dabble a bit, and here's pic of one of mine. It's based on piccolo bits with a no-longer available retrofit chassis:-

they fly lovely as well John ! I have one also.... much fun, they sound (and fly, if you throw them round a bit) like an angry bee ! We should try and persuade Nige to go back into production....
