ask for the buyer to send them back and check them yourself. if they are screwed then youll have to take it on the chin. its a risk you take with e-bay unfortunatley

Aren't ebay sales supposed to be sold as seen? Like, if he got it and it was busted its his problem? I thought that thats the risk you take selling on ebay.

the other option is that you ignore him. if however he paid by paypal and he starts a dispute then you really are stuffed...

Don't leave feedback until the buyer does, I learned that quite quickly

Did he use a 'buy it now' ? if not then you have no legal obligation as it is deemed 'sold as seen' like any auction. You could always meet him half way and only refund him for just 1.

I've just had my Zimmerman mufflers weld joint around flange crack open due to poor workmanship I bought this off ebay too.
Think I might start buying new & leave ebay to every one else it seems things arent so cheep on there as you would hope.

I sold a very old Sony Vaio laptop on eBay a while ago to a chap in Ireland. I had up-sized the hard drive and the RAM, and installed Windows XP (originally came with W98).

On the day that I packed it up, I re-installed Windows again, and set it up for Irish defaults, installed a load of goodies like MS Office, and Photoshop etc, and packaged it up with loads of care and affection in bubble-wrap and cardboard. Needless-to-say, when it left my hands, it worked just fine.

When he received it, he emailed me to say that it didn't work. He had paid about £70 for the machine, and another £25 for the postage.

Now, three things could have happened here - either (1) he was lying, it worked fine and he was trying to get a voluntary refund from me, or (2) I was lying (from his point of view you see), and it never worked before I posted it, or (3) it genuinely got damaged in the post.

Well, I didn't really care less and was glad to see the back of the thing that had been cluttering up my desk for years, so I gave him his postage costs back directly by PayPal. He then left me positive feedback.

I'll never know if he was trying it on or not, or if really didn't work when it got there, but hey, in that case, it really didn't matter to me.

We recently sold a cheap item on ebay and posted it 'signed for' as usual to cover our backs. The buyer claimed not to have received it although the postman had left a card for them to pick it up at the post office. As they didn't collect it within 7 days it was returned to us automatically.
I asked ebay what our responsibilites were in this case and their reply contained this paragraph

"eBay provides a market place for buyers and sellers to interact just as
a local authority might provide a physical venue for a market to take
place. We have limited legal powers and responsibilities. We provide the
listing and bidding systems, but we do not authenticate users, verify
items or guarantee that you will receive payment or the item.
                    "

Basically they're not interested in what happens as long as they get their cut!

I had a similar thing with a shuttle canopy, that the guy never payed for, I gave him a complete month, and a few polite emails, then a couple of firm emails, then Negative feedback, so he retaliated and left me a negative thats was a complete lie. unfortunatly I cannot get rid of it and not using the bay alot have quite a poor feedback score now. Oh well.... you win some, you lose some, get him to send them back to you, and say if they are faulty you will refund him, thats all you can do to keep a clean feedback record, or stick to your guns and tell him they were fine before you sent them. One question, did you say there where in working order to him at any point. If not tell him he never asked if they work so tough luck mate........

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                      And a DX8 too

I find ebay fine as long as your careful. I only buy something that is significantly cheaper than buying it retail and therefore worth the risk.

I cant understand why some people seem to get carried away and pay over the odds for stuff. Theres a few Trex 450 SE V2 kits on there just now at £330 plus postage. Why take that risk when its cheaper online from reputable heli stores etc.
