          i have only being doing it for month
          i started off with a mcx2
          then the awsome mcpx
          now my 450 sport
          and my biggest heli the 550e v2 :P
          now i think its time for a nitro

            I seem to have trouble letting go of the helis so the line for 2011 is:
            Graupner Helimax 60 with Huges 500 body (requires Restoring)
            Kyosho Concept EP (1 with jet ranger body the other with Hughes 500, both require restoring)
            Kyosho Concept 60 (Requires Restoring)
            Tsk Mystar 46 Requires restoring

              Started the year with a 450pro and a 600LE. Just sold the 600 airframe to make way for a velocity 50 N2 and am looking to sell the 450 as I don't fly it as much as the 50 size

                  This year was the year for mechanical failures for me.

                  In reverse order my crashes were;

                  Blitz Avro - engine cut in a turn upwind, tried to auto but had to turn downwind
                  and had too much forward speed, ground not smooth enough, damage was a
                  nice new set of blades :-( boom, TT, crown gear, feathering shaft.

                  Century Predator SE gasser - main rotor shaft somehow slipped downwards during the

                  auto it and finally get it flipped back upright before reaching the ground. I still
                  have not ordered the parts (boom, TT, skids, main and feathering shafts, etc.)

                  Ely.Q Ultimate - tailrotor pulley came loose during a stall turn, too low to stop
                  it spinning completely. Damage was blades, boom, skids, feathering shaft, some links, etc.

                  Hirobo Sceadu evo 50, had two incidents earlier in the year - main gear
                  stripped badly in flight but didn't crash then the anti-rotation pin came
                  out of the swash (the outer swash on that heli is plastic). Various
                  damage, blades, skids, lost Spektrum sattellite, etc.

                  Raptor 50 had two incidents, both minor. Aileron servo failed causing a
                  crash (boom, blades, skids etc.) then a link came off the swash causing
                  a bent feathering shaft and main shaft but no crash.

                  So, an expensive year in that regard, lots of broken blades and various
                  parts.

                    a fair amount of damage there!

                    I think I have only gone in twice this year from memory, a record.

                    Got a lot of making up to do in 2012!

                      Cant complain trillian it was my 1st one for over a year.
                      It was a failure of some discription as the thing was hovering fine with probably to high a head speed & I think the blade grip
                      link came a drift. I will convert back to the flybarred head & get it back in the air.

                        Yeah, I did a lot of flying this year so I guess it is somewhat in perportion. Some of the mechanical
                        failures were not things that were likely to be detected in pre-flight checks and were just
                        co-incidence that several of those things happened within a few month span but it did worry
                        me a bit. Only one crash was caused by 'dumb thumbs' and that was with my 500 but
                        the damage was minimal and it was flying again very soon. (I did also crash the 450s
                        but that wasn't dumb thumbs it was just me being silly too low to the ground).

                        Maybe the answer is ultimately to only have a few helis flying at any one time and
                        in addition to the regular pre and post flight checks just do a total rebuild now and then
                        to catch those unseen potential failures. This is where you appreciate the helis that are
                        easy to work on and spot problems and is one reason I love the Robbe Futura and Milli.
