  • Helicopter problem

Hello. Not sure if I'm posting in right forum. I own a Micro X Copter 3.5D channel Shark Alloy helicopter. It had been working great until recently. The bottom propeller (B) stopped spinning and the copter will not fly. The gears are making a strange noise and I noticed the 2nd gear is not spinning at all. How can I fix this. Thank you for your help.

it sounds like your motor has worn out or your gear is chewed are all the teeth in place on the gear?
i believe the motors are brushed?

The alloy shark is more towards the toy market, you can get spare parts from market traders at computer fairs (Seems strange but they are usually there)

Have only had it for a couple of weeks and have barely used it. Could the motor go that quickly?

check the little grub screw that holds the gear onto the shaft is ok .(grab all the bades with one hand so they cant turn , then with the other hand see if you can turn the gears ) . with all the blades held still you should not be able to spin the gears . i know this because i own an alloy shark and i had to replace the grub screw for one 2mm longer so it would grab the shaft properly....hth
