  • Trex 700 Clutch OWB Replacement

    Anyone able to reccommend a particular OWB for a QuickUK clutch?

    I dont really want to risk a crappy one, as I dont want to be pulling the engine out again

    How about contacting QuickUK about it? It's not really on that such an expensive part has such a crap quality bearing in it!

      I will do in the morning, but im not sure if any of the ones they install are any good?

      I would have stuck the one from my Align clutch in it, but not sure what one it is...doh

        Have you tried turning it the other direction? To see if the one way bearing is upside down.
        Cheers Paul

          @sacko,
          Hi I've just spoken to Budd the owner of Quick UK, the bearings are certainly not cheap they actually come from INA bearings in Germany. He is absolutely committed to customer service so please call him in the morning so that he can help you out.

          What has actualy gone wrong?

            Nope, it is definitely the correct way around. Its just not locking when it should

              Cheers for the Stuart, much appreciated.

              It hardly ever locks and turns over my YS, just spins.

              I am using a Dynatron on 3s, so definitely not over-powered.

                Hmm sounds weird, have you replaced the clutch due to a failed one or did you just upgrade? The reason I ask is if you have had a OWB fail in a previous clutch it may have damaged the starter shaft. I know it sounds weird but, the slightest damage to the shaft can cause an early sometimes nearly instant failure of the new OWB or whole new clutch. The tolerance between shaft and OWB is pretty minimal so the slightest damage can destroy the lock phase of the OWB. Not saying that's the case here, but something folks should know about. When I change a clutch I get a starter shaft too. May be over kill but that's me, for the price of the starter shaft you keep everything 100%.

                Cheers

                  I only upgraded due to the amount of runout on the original one. The machine hasnt really had that much use, but ill chuck a new one for the cost they are.

                  Cheers
