  • Another first for me today. Loops!

OK stop sniggering at the back there 3D gods, we all have to start somewhere.

What with all the talk of expensive 90 sized helis I decided to go out at lunch with my cheapy Flasher 450 Pro Yesterday I had a massive box full of spares delivered since WW&R have 15% off the Flasher spares at the minute. So with this in mind, and the fact that the 450 is supposed to be my basher heli, I pulled back and went for a loop. And by god you know I did it, a massive circular loop!

Awesome. Couldn't do much but fly my normal figure 8's for the rest of the flight as I was too shaky but did a couple more on the second pack. Shame these weren't as good as I think I was being too cautious and didn't carry enough speed in or get the movements right so they weren't as big or round.

Anyway that's all, buzzing a bit.

Well done! One thing to be mindful of with loops is try to resist getting heavy on the collective again
too soon because you end up gaining so much speed on the downward side and then loosing height.
It's a bit of a natural tendency though because you're anxious to get back level again and in
    positive pitch.

I still remember my first loop well. I had been flying my Raptor 30 a few months, got it going up to
speed and just pulled back on the stick and prayed it would make it all the way round (it did).

Actually that's one of the reasons I've waited until I'd cracked doing forward flips while keeping the heli stationary as it's taught me a lot about managing the collective. My first loop was so massive and round that I seemed to have forever to keep everything smooth just like my loops on the sim the other night. If only I'd been able to stay composed enough to do some more like that. I'll use the fact that it was b*&(&y freezing as a defence
