  • Buying whilst abroad

    Hi Everyone

Has anyone ever bought a heli whilst abroad and simply packed it in your case ? If so did you encounter any problems ?

    Thanks

I have when i was in florida(redi heli) and never had no problems, just make sure u take the heli out the plastic rappers and remove all price tags, and tell u what u will be saving so much more money and get a way better service, u might even be lucky to get some freebies lol.
    Do what u do best

I do this a lot and you really don't have to do anything special if you stay inside the £390 allowance. In that case you want to keep the evidence supporting the price you paid just in case you get stopped.

I'll give this a go the next time i'm in the US. The kits are much cheaper.

There are one or two traps to watch for.

Advertised prices do not include sales tax, if you buy in store (or order online for delivery within your State) they will add the tax (varies by where you are but 6-9% usually)

If you order online for delivery from out of State you will pay no sales tax, but many retailers will not deliver to a temporary address (hotel etc.) especially if your credit card has a UK registered address.

I have a permanent address in the US I might be able to use, but the cost of postage to him, then from him to my hotel is eating up the savings. Thanks for the heads up.
