  • What's the general opinion on the Align Super Starter?

My starter is just about to give up so I’m looking for a new starter. I’ve see the video about the Align starter and the Sullivan Dynatron ( the one on you tube) and would buy the Sullivan except that it looks heavy and as I’ve to carry my equipment across a farmers field I’m trying to make my flight equipment as light as possible. So I’m thinking the Align Super Starter may be the answer, or is there another option?

The align is very good , except for its vibration, the you tube vid is no exageration. lol

The Dynatron is the best but its big , heavy and rips the heck out of the one way in the heli clutch (on 24volts)
I need a new starter after 2 years of using my Align to start my nitros and its most likley going to be a new align .

Buy one you wont be dissapointed

If my house caught fire, one of the first things to rescue would be my Align starter. Then I would rush into the garage, grab hold of my DX 8 and throw it in the house.

The Dynatron is good, but its bulky and heavy when you strap a lipo to it. I bought my Align starter secondhand, but it went pop straight away. I replaced the board and touch wood, it's been fine since. The video is funny, but it's no where near as bad as that. Mine easily turns over my 90 and 50.

Comes in a neat case, it's light and does the job.
                  Cheers,

I have both,as you do and can honestly say the align is the one that i take to the field every time and have done for over a year, its never not started any of my heli's 90's included, lots at our field and they all work.
The dynatron is a great starter but its just too big IMO.

The align one will give you white finger!

I can't remember if it started the 120 the other week over the field or not, think it did eventually?!?!

The Align Superstarter starts my 55, no problems whatsoever, and it starts my Align 91H ok but it very often struggles with my YS 91SRS, however always starts it eventually.

And it really starts hurting the wrists when it is struggling.

I can see me getting a Dynatron at some point in the future, but they are sooooo expensive.

I had the align starter, and it really did struggle to turn my 90 engine over, although the engine was new so may of been a bit tighter than others, since got a sulivan and never looked back, nowt worse than getting to the field and not being able to start your heli

IMO align starter are great for 50 size but do struggle with 90s just my opinion tho
