  • flybarred to barless dont know if i like it

hey guys, after converting my 450 sport to flybarless a few weeks ago im still not sure i like it, im using 3g on v.21 with coolice settings, im not exactly sport flying around yet but with the basic flying im doing it just doesnt feel solid like it did with my flybar, so at the mo im not really enjoying flying it and thinking of going back to flybar, has anyone else experienced this or could it be its not setup as good as it should be?

to be honest a 3g flybarless unit wont......u will want a 3gx or beast x for that mate.

It also depends how you like it to feel I prefer a more locked in feeling sort of like on a sim.

you may b able to do some tweaking but the 3g is said to be a little lacking....I however dont have any expereince with the 3g only the 3gx and beast x

I know of one or two people who are more than happy with the 3G but as u say I'm Liking a more solid feel and Im not getting that anymore, don't know if updating to v3 will help maybe worth a try before I change it all back

People say the 3G is lacking but take a look a this video. Admittedly it's got a 720 on the tail but it doesn't look like dunc is having too much trouble. Any flybarless system is as good as the setup. if it's not setup right, and I'm not suggesting that yours isn't then it will fly like a pig.

It's not for everyone and on a 450 it's probably a bit of an acquired taste.

          Hey.

What blades are you running out of interest as I can't remember? Also where is your sensor mounted?

In all honesty I managed to get my 3G and 3GX flying pretty much the same on the 450's, 3GX has a better tail feel but cyclic wise it's the same.
As above, which you know they can be a little finicky and require a lot of tweeking to get just right compared to the larger machines. My 3G'd 550E, 700N & 700E just worked pretty much straight away, but my 450 PRO took a lot more work to find the sweet spot.

I have newly installed the 3G on my Pro, took a bit of tweaking and still a bit to do but overall, I find it nice and stable when needed but responsive too. It's my first FBL apart from the MCPX so don't really have anything to compare it to, other than it feels more locked in than the 450 with a flybar.

Like you I'm using Coolice settings.

                Hey Buddy.

Ah, that'll be your problem my friend. Your blades are most probably too light and not balanced nicely to fly well on FBL.

Initially I was running stock Align 325D's and they were very pitchy in FFF, a switch to Maniac's which are a heavier blade helped no end. Then I settled on the Align 3G 325's once they were released and they work great and cheap to.

It's a shame you are not closer as I still have my Maniac's which you could try.

Sensor wise I had mine on top of the boom block in the end, the anti-totation bracket worked well for me to but can be open to vibration from the swashplate.
