  • undoing rounded bolts

A couple of the bolts on my trex 500 have rounded on the inside (where the alan keys go in), is there a trick to get these out, I was going to use a dremmel to make a slit in them and use a screwdriver to unscrew unless you have a better idea .

Bang on mate. Cut a slot with the Dremel and screw drive em out. Someone say Cheesium?!

there are many tricks, if there is too much threadlock on the bolt, you can heat the area first, or if the head has gone, dremel it or use a torx bit that fits snuggly in the hole

Align screws are renowned for stripping like this, get a good supply of cutting discs for your dremel also a small flat needlefile for the ones you cant get the disc into
        All the best

When i had 450's it happened alot..when it does,re-use the bolts as its easier with a flat head driver, just becareful as not to slip and scratch the frames!

Heat it with a soldering iron or use a Dremel, to be honest I found any other method just a waste of time if you already have quality hex drivers. I just use Align drivers, they work great and don't cost a bomb.

Im using the rc skerwz form fastlads, i only use em on the fames because the align bolts are better for the head as they arent as brittle as stainless steel.
These bolts are brilliant on the frames and i can gaurntee u wont round them out!!

Personaly i would go with the soldering iron on the head of the screw first, this trick usualy works if you have not muller'd the screw head!!, then as a last resort attack with the Dremel! these kit are ok much better than the stock Align hardwear!
