Just a note to say to all the beginners out there, once you've got hovering sorted and starting to learn forward flight start learning autos...
Just recently I've been practising with my 450 Pro and the TT360 hitting TH and auto'ing into land. Today this saved me some cash.
I was out with my 450 Pro just now and I lost orientation as I went below the tree line during a turn. Ended up with the heli falling sideways and getting out of shape. Not actually sure I would have recovered it so hit TH and then tried to level it out best I could and used the technique I'd been practising to land to slow the heli down.
Once I'd recovered the heli it looked completely unscathed
Then just after take off the tail went mad, hit TH again and brought her down nice and smooth. Turns out the TT has snapped, most likely in the first accident but was holding until it got airborne again.
Stupid design that. Align say "Special protection design torque tube. When you have a crash or collision with tail blade, it will protect the umbrella gear and make the damge at the back section of the torque tube." so instead of a £1 umbrella gear I have to pay about £16 for a pair of TT and a pair of bearings. Not sure how that's better.
Anyway the message is, learn the skills you need to auto, because it'll save you a load of cash in repairs.
