  • advice with dampners

when i built my 450 sport fbl head and put the black align dampners in i noticed that they are not a tight fit inside the housing and could almost fall out, now that i have the blades attached there seems to be quite a bit of slop, is that normal? im sure ive seen a post regarding this before with people using different coloured/brand dampners, cheers for any advice, loz

You shouldn't have any slop in the head, go over it again make sure you built it correctly. From memory there is a shim that goes between the dampers and blades grips, is that there?

The coloured dampers are after market ones, I still use the Align dampers on my 450 FBL head, had no issues

The slop is fairly normal, mine do it from New.
Do I like it no but it flies ok, it probably doesn't matter because the head is quite wide (the dampers are far appart).
An alternative is the KBDD ones

These fit tighter, can't say I notice any difference in flight though.

The black Align dampers are quite a tight fit in my new head block...
