  • Some where to go!

OK, I need some help, for the last 5 years I have been taking my wife to exhibitions and shows for her hobbies. This includes 2 or 3 trips a year to garden shows, paper crafts and dolls house exhibitions. I have been looking out for somewhere I can go to get my own back and spend at least 5 hours looking at interesting things like Helis and other R/C Toys. Any suggestions.

Idealy it would be within 3-4 hours travelling time of Southampton, although for the right event I could proberbly swing an overnight stop.

To be fair to my wife, I don't have a good record at other shows, I went to the Southampton boat show to buy a sailing dingy and came back with a 19ft 220hp ski boat, then I went to DIVE at the NEC and came back with a dry suit, BCD, dive computer and regulator set, so whenever I suggest going some where, she is always a bit wary!

This week end it's paper craft and cake icing at the NEC, so please any suggestions will be welcome.

If you really want to earn some mega brownie points take her to the Eden Project in Cornwall. it's absolutely fanbloodytastic, I hate pots and plants etc but that place is more than you can take in, in one day. Then you're well up on whatever takes your fancy next time out.

That's a new one on me.
It say's flyng organised by BMFA. I've looked at BMFA website and classfieds and not seen anything advertised.
Have I missed something or are the BMFA not bothering to advertise their own activities.

Show I would like to go to, only 5 minutes from NEC and knew nothing about it.

            Thanks for the post.
            Are you demo flying there?

yes i must admit it is an excellent day out but this place is not to far from there and its natural beauty is breath taking The Lost Gardens of Heligan as for heli events the next one that is nearest to you would be charmouth in april or may I think.

                  Sounds good, enjoy yourself.

If BMFA are there to promote the hobby I'm just surprised I can't find it mentioned anywhere on their website or magazine. Seems a missed opportunity, though I suppose they would be advertising to the converted.
