  • Blade 400 violent tail shake and subsiquent crash

Im hoping someone can help me and explain why this would happen, i bought this heli for my son a few days ago i bound it to my transmitter and have test flow the heli a few times with no problems at all then last night i took it into the garden with my son so he could have a go with it, after hovering it around for a couple of mins it developed a very severe tail shake and hit the deck like a brick from about 8feet totally destroying the head, my question is what caused the tail shake to be so violent ?

Hi Dave , possibly the gain could be too high as i have just had a similar problem on my twister 3d . she was fine in a stable hover but as soon as i increased throttle the tail would shake fast and violent .i reduced gain in small increments and eventualy got it bang on . At first i thought your problem could be a bent main shaft but i think you would of noticed the shake right from spool up (some one more exprienced with heli set will correct me if im wrong tho) hth

You havent flicked a Gyro switch and left the gain at default 100%?

Has it had a knock? blades balanced?

It could be that it got a bit cold. Probably shivering. The cheaper gyros do change with temperature. Did you let the heli cool down to outside temperature before switching on? The gain could have been high as well. Might be ok when warm but not when it cools down. Servos are not too clever either and the tail isn't held that well in the plastic body. Probably just something worked a bit loose though.
