  • Making time to work on helis

I know I am just rambling here but for some reason felt it's a topic of some
    miniscule relevance.

Lately one of the most difficult things for me is finding the time to work
on helis. During the week I work at my computer all day and my brain has
to think, my eyes are tired of looking at stuff and I'm just tired in
general. So at the end of the day I tend to gravitate towards
just something where I can switch my brain off, like watching TV
    or surfing online for things.

Then when the weekend rolls around I want to be out flying so if I fly
both days I don't get any work done, I'm doing good just to get Lipos
charged for the next day. Then the work week comes and the pattern
    starts all over again.

I suppose if I had fewer helis I would be forced to make time to
work on them if anything needed fixing but since I have a few I can
always be flying something and the ones that need maintenance sit
waiting for me to have time

(I know what the ultimate solution is by the way, it's winning the
lottery, but so far this has not happened)

So you spend all day on the computer and then browse the web for stuff in the evening? You should try doing some sneaky browsing during work time and keep your evenings free from computers.

Too many helis is a serious problem though - there's always something needs looking at on at least on of them.

      Know the feeling.

Balancing work, the baby, the Mrs', helis, cars etc; seems to be getting a lot more difficult lately.

Ive got the same problem, by the time I finish working on the farm, spend time with the kids and mrs, the helis just stay on the shelf.

Well, like right now is a perfect example. I finished work a couple hours ago and I'm still here at
the computer. I do reach a point sometimes where I simply have to get away from the computer.

I really don't have anything to moan about except having to work.

I find working on the helis takes my mind off work, and as the work is general maintenance then it's not taxing on the mind.

If it's anything more substantial, that requires thinking about, I wait for one of the very windy / raining weekends that we seem to be having this year and do the work then.

I find a week full of lunch hours is enough time to repair all but the worst pranged heli - if I've done a particularly bad number on one then I also use up my 6am-9am slot that I'd normally use to get a march on the day. Also have much more table space at work than at home. Not everyone can do this of course, but if you can, it's a very diverting way to spend the lunch hour (you just end up ramming your otherwise enjoyable sandwich down your throat at 12:55pm)
