What is Idle up?

Hey all

What is idle up? What does it do?
How do I set it up?
And what does it do or not do for my flying?
Is it necessary?

its used for sport and 3d flying,it would be a throttle curve like 100 95 90 95 100 or 90 90 90 90 90,you would generally have a linear pitch curve to go along with this, 0 25 50 75 100 with point 0 being -10to -12 degrees and point 100 being +10to+12 degrees,point 50 should be 0 degrees.it will be great to progress your flying,it doesnt need to be as extreme as these settings,allows you to fly upside down without killing the motor as your throttle will not cut out when you bring your throttle stick down

The idle up switch on my T/X is welded in the off mode. Too scaredy for that yet, but for beginners to the art "idle up" is not necessary to answer your question. Will be soon if you're good though, and by that time you'll know what's it for alright LOL.

Did my first idle up yesterday on my 450 pro. It just makes it feel like a totally different machine, with the head speed increase makes hovering the heli roak solid. Think I'll be ready for flips, loops and inverts in no time soon. Best to practice on your flight sim first though!.

best thing i did is set up a proper idle up, and use it!!!!!

because the heli has a higher head speed, it is alot more stable, and flys alot smoother, as you tend not to be altering the head speed,

idles up refers to your teenage son/daughter rolling out of bed at 2pm

idle up is a term I know not where it came from. Don't be afraid of it. Its like a dog with a scary bark. Set a nice V-ish shaped throttle curve and linear pitch curve and just fly it as you normally would. then come upside down time nothing is a suprise.
