Strangely I've been thinking about doing this to my redundant 700n it does seem very few have done it as I was looking on the freak too and there is very little there too although dave dahl said that you should run a HS of around 1400-1500

When I looked at it the Align bits to stretch a 700 are relatively cheap ~£40 from memory but it was the £150 for the Edge blades, they were the only ones with 800's out at the time, that put me off. Align have a set of 800's out for £93 at FL, so that's decent 690 - 710 blade price, so could be worth looking at again.
Not sure I'd like to do it on a 700N but a 700E would probably be an ideal candidate for it because of the extra power,, so it can use the extra blade length.

Hey.
Having done something similar to my turbine predator a few years back, the increased rotor size lightens the disk loading as you're carrying the same amount of weight but under bigger wings so to speak.
Head speed will need to be lowered, agility will not be quite so chuckable as a stock 700, but the model will have a real presence in the air and auto amazingly well.
This is good for carrying heavy loads such as cameras etc, or hauling a heavy turbine around. As has been seen with the logo extreme it makes for slower and smooth 3D

you have a point there it would need diffrent gearing and suchlike would be awsome at 1950 HS yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaa LOLNot sure I'd like to do it on a 700N but a 700E would probably be an ideal candidate for it because of the extra power,, so it can use the extra blade length.

I was asking about this a while back on HF for my 700N but there didnt seem to be a great deal of info on it.I was wondering if the standard head components and a 91 engine would be up to the job.
Ill be dreaming about a FBL 800N with YS120 tonight then, cheers guys!goblin BT700 havok (red)

well guess what one of the guys at my club came today with a 700 nitro fbl converted to the 800 now with boom and blades and to be honest it does looks really nice and alot easier to see in the air but we notice that the heli doesnt like a high HS and it highly recomended to use more powerfull servos with alot more kg pullDo what u do best
