These are good: Outer Flame Jacket - Rohan Outdoor Clothing . Not absolutely as warm as their mega-serious down jackets, but ~1/2 the price, and more practical than down in some respects. (More tolerant of moisture, abuse, etc).
Compresses small enough for those days when you think you won't need it - but it may well turn out colder than you expected. Warm body -> warm hands...
