  • Trex 450 pro-jesus bolt wont come out?!!

I cant get this jesus bolt out of the main gear for the life of me on this pro, the bolt just keeps turning and turning, I thought maybe I have put to much lock tight on it and bunged up the thread so I have tried the soldering iron on it to no avail. I have tried everything,
The day started well too i managed to extract the 3 stripped heads out of the frame using a dremmel and flat head screwdriver, thanks Adie for the cutting disc!.

    Any ideas?

nope the locknut is still there, normally i would just unscrew it and then the nut would fall out then push the bolt out as you say

      beats me

If its not bent try an automatic centre punch.

If you haven't got one of those then get someone to hold the Heli on its side and rest the area surrounding the bolt head on a socket or somthing similar ( use an extension bar to make it fit ) then tap the threaded end with a drift (an old feathering shaft or similar)

Screw a spare bolt into the nut from the outside & pull it from the tail drive gear.
Then use a 1.5 hex driver to push the bolt out.

The bolt is fully through the nut, so all of the thread is showing, so I cant even do what you suggest. The bolt went fully in when i put it together last, this time it turns both ways just doesn't tighten or loosen off at all, im lost?!

Time to play "hard ball" and drill the socket head off and then drift the remains through.

                Good luck,

Yep sounds like the threads are stripped, so as above

The threaded part of the bolt within the nut is stripped Simon. If you've not tried this yet try holding the nut with a really tight gripping pair of long nosed pliers and whilst pulling the nut away from the bolt, keep turning the bolt till the good threads engage and it should come off. If not Dremmel it very carefully.

Kinda thought so mate, just hoped someone would come up with a different solution, I must have over tightened the bolt when it went into the nut, never done that before! Its going to be fun trying to get it sorted
