  • Horizon Hobby, a bit shocked!

I sent an AR500 and an AR7000 for check/repair. A covering letter explaining the problem, although with the AR500 it was obvious one of the aerials had come off due to my heavy handness extracting it from my wing. I didn't know how to pay for these to be repaired but was expecting some sort of invoice. Nothing, turned up this morning, well packaged, repaired. No charge. To say I was shocked is an understatement. No one offers this kind of service, they can't afford to, can they. Didn't even charge for the postgage. Incredible, I'll add that I sent them last Friday, to top it off, back this morning.

Well impressed, I know they get good press on here but I've never needed their services before. Just goes to show.

... they are certainly very good at taking care of you.

A month back I sent three AR 6100E Receivers to them. Two to be updated to the latest firmware, one for both aerials to be resoldered on, and another for one aerial.. got them back with no charge aswell.. What more can you ask for!

They replaced my smashed DX7 screen for free, marvellous. I felt like sending off my dodgy foot to see what they could do!

I do feel guilty when I get things back, I always offer to pay but they never send an invoice, it almost feels like stealing sometimes!

            They fixed my DX6i.....no charge.
When my spare went wonky and I had to send that in as well I stuck in a 'donation' for their Tea Fund/Beer fund whatever.
Got a rather nice thank you note and a spruced up Dx to boot.

Do you guys just send stuff in or contact them first? I've been wondering if it's worth sending my MCPx in for a check as I get a bad vibration which comes and goes which I can't find the cause for.

They've fixed my DX7 before and an AR7000. Currently they have my MCPX with fried board (I think). So far there has never been a charge. I always include a nice letter and contact phone number with the offer that if they ring me they can charge my credit card but nothing, they just come back fixed.
                Faultless service - but would I buy a DX8? Don't think so.

I just packed them both in a servo case with bubble wrap, put them in a jiffy bag with a covering letter and asked for the invoice as it wasn't clear how to pay. Got them back, still in my servo box with my bubble wrap, repaired, and in a box with packing. I have honestly never received service like that, ever in my life. I'm 45 and never experienced better.

Parallel universes, not sure wether that's correct or is it universe as a plural. Either way if you post in the sellers forum it doesn't get posted in the general, I thought they deserved to be mentioned in general population their service was that good.

Apologies for the double post, mods please feel free to edit

Chap in our club had a DX8 playing up and he sent it back to them in a bin liner with an appropriate message.
They sent him a brand new DX8, new case the works. Great service.
The following week his Trex600 dropped out of the sky like a stone and he now has a JR tranny
