That's not what was intended at all, I just wanted to point out to beginners and people on a restricted budget there is a way to getting a 'passable' heli - I came very close to packing helis in altogether because I don't have the funds to support numerous rebuilds at the moment, my daughter is getting married next year and needs a lot of financial help.

If it doesn't drift its worth the money. My experience with the cheaper gyros is three years out of date. The Twister Storm one set me back a lot, mainly because of the time of year and the cold. If I'd started six months earlier I'd have been ok. Looks like reasonable clones have got cheaper then. I found a higher headspeed easier as the heli is more stable. Someone more experienced changed it for me and from then on I was ok. (Compared with before)

don't get me wrong... this thread might just help me get my girlfriend's dad into 450 sized helis... we are getting married next year as well so don't want to spend too much either.

Could be ok then, the setup I quoted has been the result of three people trying different parts out over the past 6 months, it is pretty well researched. The main thing I would do different is to use uk made screws though, the standard ones are not good and use all cap screws (no crossheads).
Having had a go with one, admittedly on a buddy lead and being my first CP flight I was pleasantly surprised what it was like! hence the reason for me posting this thread. I don't spend much on anything else but helis & planks now, my real ale addiction has gone on the back burner.
