  • Croydon airport, can someone clear some things up for me?

1, can anyone fly here or do you have to be a member of 'the croydon airport model club'

2, If the answer to 1, is yes, what are the hours I can fly there on a Monday with electric models?

3, Can I fly alone there

4, Any links to info other than the croydon club

    Thanks

    1. Anyone can fly there, you do not have to be a member of the Croydon club

    2. With electric I don't think there are any restrictions of day or time

    3. Yes you can fly alone if you wish

    4. Not that I know of but there could be something.

I have flown there on various weekdays both nitro and electric. (Nitro is only till 1PM Mon, Wed and Fri
and all day on Tuesday and Thursday as I recall)

      Thanks
One more thing, does this red arrow point to the site?
      http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=531019&y=163006&z=1&sv=531019,163006&st= OSGrid&lu=N&tl=~&ar=y&bi=~&mapp=map.srf&searchp=id s.srf

I presume you have to walk with kit to the site and when I get there is it obvious?

        Yep, that's it.

In this picture, the rough red circle is where the pits/runway/helipad is.
The 2 red ovals are where you can park, either on the hard shoulder by the memorial (it's quite a long walk to drag your kit though) or carry on to Imperial Way, turn left at the end and carry on to the small pool hall/dead end.

Head towards the large (6 foot wide) wooden sign- it carries the byelaws related to flying at the site and is next to the runways.

you can fly alone, at any time, provided you fly electric and within the marked out boundaries. You don't need BMFA insurance or membership to fly here, or be a member of any club.

I try to go there whenever I'm down south and the weather permits. Was there last wednesday, blazingly hot, slightly gusty day and only 2 other flyers whilst I was there.
