Has anyone had there CC esc's back yet

Just wondering if the updated ones have been returned to there owners yet, got a CC 120 HV and have been using it with no issues on my logo, but changing my power set up to a kontronics to reduce weight, and so will sell it on, but I would need to send it off first

I have one of the new Castle ICE2 HV120 ESC's on my Synergy E6 which is working flawlessly, it's definately worth sending it off to be updated/replaced with the new ICE2 if your planning on selling/reusing or even keeping as a back-up.

What's the usual turnaround time Ross? Do we still send them back to fast lads?

I've heard that at the height of the recall it was around 4+ weeks but the ICE2 ESC's are starting work there way through now as Align are pushing out kits with the new ICE2's in the kits so i think that may be a contibuting factor as to why the recall/replacement has been taking a while.

You could send to Fast-Lad or you could send direct to the Castle Creations in the USA.

Here is the return procedure from Fast-Lad:

Advisory applies only to: PHOENIX ICE HV 120
Castle engineers have determined that the performance specifications of certain electronic components used in the Phoenix Ice HV 120 ESCs may have changed between production runs. ESCs built using the out-of-specification components are more susceptible to failure when used with some combinations of motor and battery; and then only in certain applications. Fewer than 3% of the Phoenix Ice HV 120s produced to date have been returned for service of any kind.
Our engineering staff has been working with one of our component suppliers to design and manufacture a custom component that is much more tolerant of the loads encountered with today's batteries and motors. Phoenix Ice HV 120 controllers modified to use samples of those new components performed flawlessly in extreme applications where the Ice HV 120s built with the current component failed. We are confident that this modification will make the Ice HV 120 controller a much more durable ESC – one worthy of the Castle name.
Return Process.
If you have purchased your controller from Fast Lad Performance. Please return it to with proof of purchase, (date and invoice number) and your full name and return shipping address to. If you have a controller that came in an Align 700e kit purchased from us you can also use the same process for returning the controller.

Your postage cost to us will be reimbursed and we will also pay the return shipping costs back to you.
NOTE: For purposes of fast turnaround, you will be sent a new Phoenix Ice HV 120 controller. Remove all connectors, etc. from your ESC before shipping as they will not be returned with your replacement controller.
Timescale
At the moment we dont have a turnaround timescale on this process. We are working with castle to ensure its as quick as possible.

Cheers Ross, I don't know where the esc was bought from as it came with my logo, so will send it direct to cc, do you have a dept and address for postal returns?

I sent a 120 , it was received by them on 12th Sept..

This is their emailed reply to a request for an update

We have processed your ICE 120HV in the middle of September. I am sorry for your wait. I am invoicing 120HVs now. I am working down the list as fast as I can. We always invoice the oldest orders first. I'm sure you will receive something this week or next.

To send your ESC in for repair, please follow these steps (it may be helpful to print a copy of these instructions):

1. Click on "Submit Return" in the yellow box at the bottom right of this page.
2. Click "Check Out Now".
3. Click "Process Repair".
4. Enter your information.
5. Leave all boxes in the PAYMENT METHOD section BLANK, as you will not be charged.
6. Click the "Submit Secure Order" button on the bottom of the page.
7. Print your order confirmation e-mail and include it with the product when shipping.

Based on reports from others, I would not advise using the Belgian repair center.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has yet had a return from Belgium, that may be about to change but I'm not sure if it is worth the risk given the backlog they must already have there.

Sent my 80hv in 3 weeks ago to belgium. Havent heard a dicky. Emailed them 4 or 5 times and no response. Getting pretty piised about havng a brand new 600efl thats un flyable...

Not liking the sound of the Europe repair centre, think I might keep hold of mine for now then untill more news is posted that esc's are being returned

Big mistake for me to send it to Belgium. I sent my 120hv back on the first recall to the States and got it back in good time, with emails of receipt, and the 'repair' schedule' when it was being processed, so at least knew it was in their hands.

Second recall sent it back to Belgium which was tbh only £1 cheaper than sending it to the states. Sent mine off onthe 26th August and heard nothing since. Not happy
