  • Struggling..help needed!

    Morning all

I'm having a hard time with the helis at the moment and struggling a bit and could do with a bit of help

ESCs....I understand roughly how they work but what would be the effect for example if you put a 80A ESC on a 250 or a 15A on a 600 and how do you pick the right ESC for your heli

Lipos... I have over drained one of my lipos, to 4%
What is the best way to recharge it to cause least damage

Lastly, I was flying my mcpx yesterday tail in, and all of a sudden it spun 180 to nose in. I went back to tail in and started a few slow figure 8's, again the tail was all over the place and I'm baffled

Sorry for all my woes but other than 5 mins with the mcpx, I haven't flown for nearly a month and my confidence is shot!

    Thanks folks

if you put a 15 amp on a 600 i would expect it to burn the esc, dont know about an 80 amp on a 250 but i would imagine it wouldnt be very efficiant, the best way to charge your drained battery is to charge it at the lowest setting possible on your charger,i know the mcpx tail blows out when its reaching low battery

An over spec esc would not cause any issue that I can think of regarding the motor, size and weight would be the big consideration.

Under spec ESC's would fail due to the excess heat resulting from the power (wattage) due to the out of spec load current.

Over discharge of a li-po will likely have caused damage to longevity of the pack. Charge it and see how you get on, I left a li-po connected to a reg for weeks once and it was flat to the point where my 10s alarmed but managed to resurect it charging at 1C. It puffed on charging some weeks/months later.

        Hi
Put the Lipo on a Nmh charge of say 1amp for a short while to lift the voltage then connect it up as normal for a balance charge.
