  • Quick question ( trex 600 seesaw pivot points )

OK I think I've made no secret that I've not really fell in love with my Phoenixtech 600esp ( Trex 600ESP clone with the third main shaft bearing ) because it just doesn't feel right.

Now I think this is because it's big and just too stable and slow for me as I'm used to flying the smaller stuff. Now I've noticed there are 2 mounting points for the mixing arms to the seesaw. One says it's for 'Stable 3D' which is the recommended hole and the one I used. But there is another one a bit further in that the manual says is for 'nimble 3D'

So I'm thinking of trying that one to see what it's like.

The question is, do I need to change anything else, like the link lengths as well if changing to the inner hole? If it can move center stick a bit I can probably cope with it for a flight to see what it's like, but if it's goign to throw things wildly out I'll have to sit down and work it all through more.

It won't throw things wildly out Pete but what do you think isn't right. They are more stable and hence might seem a bit more lethargic but you shouldn't be noticing it until your really throwing it about.

Well to be honest, I don't know what it is that's not right. I'm just not comfortable with it. I'm not frightened of it, I hover it just as close as I do my 360 ( probably shouldn't really ) but something doesn't feel right when I fly it about.

At the minute the only thing I do with the 600 is slow figure 8's, I just don't feel comfortable letting her loose a bit. But something I'm thinking is that even when hovering I find that there's a delay in it reacting to my stick inputs, which means I put more in then I've over corrected, I can actually hold my 360 on the spot a lot of the time but I tend to meander about on the 600. I'm running no expo, 80% DR and it just doesn't feel right. The problem is I don't have the experience to know why, so stabbing in the dark a bit. Wondered if the mixing pivot point might change things more to my liking.

The 600 can be setup to be full on 3D with bags of power or made to be docile, its all a mixture of TX controlling & heli triming, I would start with checking head speed, cyclic travel between 9 & 12 pitch between 10 & 12 but I would first double check you have everything from servo arm to blade set to 90degree mid stick.
Im only suggesting because of the power a 600 can achieve,
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
