Whats this 'Auto Save' on reply?

Just noticed.. and not sure how long this has been happening or if it is that I have just noticed it now..

When I am typing to start a new thread.. reply to a thread.. or write PMs. This yellow box flashes in the bottom right of the box that it has 'Auto-Saved' every so often.

Can anyone explain what is happening? Is it that my msgs are saved somewhere.. even when I have not submitted the msg onto the board yet?

As it was before, you start to write a post/Pm and it could time out, like if you were looking for info to post along with your msg, now with the auto auto save it can still time out like before but you can get back all the work you've done up to the last save, your msg is only saved into cache, and not for anyone else to read......

I have noticed this since the last site update. This could be a great feature as I have lost a post which has taken some time to write on more than one occasion

Neither have I but I have accidentally opened a web page on the tab im using to write a post instead of opening a new tab which in turn has deleted what I have been writing.

If the auto save solves this problem then that would be good

Well, the auto save doesn't seem to work. I typed a sentence in, opened another page, went back to the page, and what I typed was not there anymore.

It only saves in the page your on, if you go away it wont save it. If you have pop up blocker on the go you will miss the warning message that tells you your about to loose the info you've typed.

There isn't a button....

...reckon you lot are winding me up.. can't see what it does.. hasn't benefited in any way either.. Think I will just ignore it from now on! LOL

...and why does the word wrap not work anymore in the reply box!
