Can I use a 120A ESC over a 80A Esc?

Looking for some advice;

I have a CC 80HV for my Fusion 50 12S setup and we all know about the CC HV ESC issues, so that's on it's way to the US. So rather than wait the maybe month for the ESC to come back I was looking to get another replacement. 80A are proving hard to get but I can get 120A, can I use a 120A ESC over the 80A one? I think the answer is yes but wanted someone to back my theory.

have you considered the new scorpion 90hv esc its very good and works perfectly with the fusion50 setup and the gov feature is very good too

Yes you can use a 120 in place of an 80, but do make sure that what you are getting will fit where you need to put it. The large Scorpion for example can be very difficult to locate neatly on a lot of models.

hence why i recomended the scorpion as i had one installed in the fusion50 so im happy to advise it fits
now a 120v esc would have to be mounted on the side frame as there too big to fit in the original location on a fusion

The 90HV was my first option but can't get stock. I could get a 130HV from Revolution and with the 25% discount is very good value. All i can tell is the 130HV is 50g heavier and 15mm longer, Kel do you think it would fit?

it will fit but you will have to fit it to the side frame some how (they have quite a large footprint) over the 90hv if installed ontop i dont think the canopy will fit have you tried calling climbout to see if they have any ?? ade or roger will help you out im sure give em a shout b4 going for the 130

Climbout have neither and 3-4 weeks before restocks!

Hmm... I do have a new unused Scorpion 90 here if it is any help?

It certainly won't fit anything I'm building at the moment so I'd be happy to let it go for a reasonable price. I got it from someone else on here on a whim but never found a use for it, it has a deans connector soldered on but is untouched aside from that.

That's fine, I wasn't rushing to sell this anyway as it is a great ESC, just not quite the right shape for what I'm building at the moment.

Hopefully the 130 will do the trick for you, if not let me know.
