  • How many 3D flyers in your club?

None is my answer. There are no real 3D flyers in my club, there is one or two who will fly inverted and try a few tic tocs but that's it.
Would you say it helps you to learn 3D moves if your flying with others who fly 3D. I think it would give me a bit more influence and confidence, also help improve the manoeuvres because they can give me pointers on what could be improved etc?
    What do you think?

None for me. I agree it would help me if there was somebody who could do 3D at my club

At a guess around 10 including myself. It always helps flying with other of similar or better ability as you can pick up new moves easier and be inspired to try other things outside your comfort zone.

There is a few in our club that fly 3D. I would reckon on maybe 5? We have regular visits from all over Scotland by barney, Craig and a few others to fly with us as well. Matt Gill flys at our club (he is the chairman) so we get to see some really hardcore 3D pretty much every week . i agree that it helps push the rest of us on because it gives us all something to aim for

None in ours (BADMAC - Beverley) - they are all plane flyers!
They just leave me in the corner of the field to do my thing .

So I know where your coming from Dan.

We probably have a few good 3d'ers. Oh and theres Callum....up down twizzle.... bog bog bish bash crash...oh no my batteries have come out !!
Then there about four of us that are venturing into the inverted stages. This certainly helps having flyers around the same ability level as it is getting a little bit competitive as to who can master the moves first !

I think that there are a few more good sport flyers, and just a couple of botherers oh i mean hoverers !!

Its all good as we can all help each other.

I'm lucky that we have the best 3D pilot in the country and a host of veritable others including Andy Kirby, Russ Deakin, Cliff campbell to name a few. The rest we have a real good spread of budding 3 D'ers. A very promising young pilot, Connor Sloane, won 3d Grass Roots earlier this year. My ham fisted attempts of course. Then we have a really good cross section of sports fliers. It's never a dull day and an absolute privilege when Duncan is in the mood, especially on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

I have to admit it can do 2 things, inspire you to try things you shouldn't and give you the confidence that comes from watching pilots of their calibre.

I'm not the only one thinking this then, and obviously some are very luck to have the top fliers at their club.
To be fair there are only 5 or 6 pure heli flyers at my club so it's unlikely many will fly 3D. Though It would be nice though to have someone who flies 3D to point me in the right direction with the manoeuvres. Phoenix is the closest I get to having help, and most people who I've flown with will do their best to give me pointers which I appreciate.

i would say 3 full time and then there is the smith brothers when they feel in the mood, myself, gashed (ross) and Geek.
I do wish the smiths would get there ass out of bed at the weekends and come fly more as i agree it does inspire you to fly new stuff when you watch better pilots, and i could do with a push on
