  • Kids!!!

I have just found a great little park surrounded by trees so it keeps most of the wind out. It was about 1730 and when I got to the park there was only a few chaps chucking a frizbee. I stayed on my side of the park and they stayed on their side. Just after the first bat change they left and I had the park to myself. 3 flights later I'm just getting into fast clock and anti clock circles when I hear a pack of kids coming up behind me with lots of "Dad that's so coooool can I have one". The sensible parent told the kids to go to the other side of the park to kick their ball and before I knew it, it was like a hand grenade of kids had just gone off, they were everywhere! Not wanting one of blades sticking out of some kids forehead I piled on the collective and got the h*ll out of dodge

Why could they not have gone round the outside? Why did the sensible parent not lead them around the field to the other side? MEH some people.

Mainly because these are seen as 'toys' by Joe public. They really dont have any idea how dangerous they can be. Same as dog walkers and the dogs themselves. You did the right thing and left ;-)

You really need a flying field - Parks with Kids spells trouble - big trouble.

same happened to us tonight, dog walkers decided to stand in front of us and let their dogs off the leads, whilst they stood 10ft from the helis and had a chat, all u can do is either dont take off or land it if its in the air, and either wait for them to pass or move on yrself, we normally give way to passing traffic and then carry on when safe to continue

print off a couple of pictures of a person injured by an rc heli,i used to get it all the time,i fly in a large park when flying on my own, maybe 8 -10 football pitches, and allways go to the quietest area, sometimes there is nobody in the park but as sure as night follows day a family appears in the corner of your eye a couple of minutes into flight 1.as soon as they start to walk over i land and start to pack up.i allways get asked to fly it so the kids can have a look as well as the parents but refuse to,ahh go on mate, just show the kids,i refuse and give them a look at a grusome picture and explain what can happen if things went wrong, usually does the trick, wait five mins and off i go again

luckily im now with a club so dont have to do this
