  • Raptor 50

Hi, I'm new here and just recently started in the hobby. I've just bought a raptor 50 2nd hand and I'm not sure how to tell whether its a V1 or V2. Can anyone tell me how you tell the difference ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes. It has got wiring clips on the side. I thought it was a V2 but wasnt sure of the differences. I like it very much and its very stable I'm not into 3d - just enjoy playing around with the heli. I picked up a 2nd hand Raptor 60 at the BMFA last week - but not tried it yet.

Hi Bugsy, welcome to the forum. Where do you fly (or planning to fly)? I have a Raptor 50 and a 60 converted to 90. The heli I did most
of my learning on was a Raptor 30. I still really like the Raptors.

Hi Trillian, new to all this forum stuff so not sure of my way around. At the moment I'm still learning to hover in the back garden. Bought the raptor 60 last week on an impulse for when I get more experience.

that'll be my next purchase, always fancied a nitro, once i clear up all my other gear to make room of course, how much do you reckon a decent 2nd hand rig will set me back?

hi mate a good raptor in nice condition is still well worth owning try and buy a good rappy 30 with the prefferd motor that is the os37 it will give u more power pn vertical climb and will make it mildly aerobatic a decent tail servo and gyro is a must top quality servos on the rest not essential as quite a low stress model but u should be prepaired to pay imho 275 to 300 for a decent well maintained model but it will give you a lot of pleasure barry

thanks bigbas, i've seen a few down my local heli shop, a 30 and a 50 raptor, there's also a nice looking 90 sized freya, old but tidy, the thing is, it's not until you buy and fly the thing that you start to find the obvious faults, like finding training gear for a trex 500! lol
