  • I've had enough... Feel like packing it all in.

    Aaarrggggg...

So Monday I put the TT360 in, but have the spares to repair. Get it fixed last night and then on my first pack at lunch put it in again after getting it badly wrong. This time it's bust pretty much everything, blades, boom, frames split at the canopy posts

Fix it I hear you say. Well yeah I would, but spares are a nightmare as I don't have any left, I've got some bits on order but no blades in stock anywhere. Can get one set from Dave Fisher which I was going to pick up on my lesson in 2 weeks time. Nobody else makes 360mm blades so that set will be the last.

Then I was chatting to Ben and asked him what puffed packs look like as I thought one of my 6s packs was puffing. So yes confirms what I thought. Get home and find 3 of my new Flightpower Nanotech packs are puffing. So I only have one pack for that left that is ok. Oh and it's possibly an issue with my PL8 and the FLightPowers so even if I flew the 600, I could only fly once and I could knacker the other pack charging it too.

So I basically have no helis I can fly, one that's in bits and I can't get parts for, and another I don't have any lips for.

Oh I do have a Flasher 450 Pro that I'm getting but that might be next week now, and on top of that I can't use my 360 lipos because they won't fit. And it's only an airframe so still have to kit it out

    Aaaarrrggggg

It all started when you went to that 'Field of Doom'.

So sorry to hear of your woes, you seem to be in one of those bad spots that you think you will never get out of. You will but the pain is bad while you are there.

just fix it up then you will be smiling again.

if notice you do fly alot, nearly everyday, maybe just fly a couple days a week then it wont seem like your breaking them all the time

Ah Pete, don't say that. A bad run is just a bad run. Time to reset and start again, slowly. I find the learning process very slow and repeat the same move over and over again until I'm happy with it. I saw Dan's vid of your last crash, well, you did go to the Field Of Doom, what'd you expect! Now you got that curse on you and you gotta wash it off! Scrub hard! Look what that field did to Dan...it took his heli again.

                Now stop

                  Fix it up mate.

This is actually one of the reasons I have so many heli's, albeit older models like the shuttle - i have more of them so when 1 is crashed i have others to fly, and parts are so freely available on fleebay etc they can be up in the air in no time

Maybe learning with a heli that has limited support may not be the best idea. Pick up a 2nd hand 450 sport, yes everybody and his dog owns one but spares are ten a penny.

well if its any consolation,i know how you feel, ive got four helis on front of me at the moment, three crashed and another that needs kitting out,cut the wires on three servos last week, pulled the wire out of another servo in a crash sunday which also pulled the wires outa my fbl system,3g.so im grounded at the moment, not a good couple of weeks for helis, electronics or blades for that matter

i do feel gutted but there isnt a chance that im gonna pack it in,im just gonna give it a break for a couple of weeks, there are many bad times in this hobby but the good ones far outweigh the bad

hope you get it sorted soon

Don't give up Pete, when I got frustrated before, I sold all my hear, absolutely all of it, and within a week I regretted it, maybe, have you contemplated changing the tt to swing 325mm blades? A lot easier to get good of, or get it airworthy again and sell it on, as the pro is a good machine to practice on, I have the flasher pro, and really enjoy flying it

Don't give up Pete, we need to meet up at field of doom again, not many people dare

Next time you are out, invert it . You can also have a go on my 250 in 15-20 mph wind like last time, you will find out that both your helis are super easy and nice to fly, so stick to them.
I'd contact flightpower regarding lipos puffing. If they are soft after 9 cycles, this is lipo problem and needs to be adressed - powerlab 8 is as good charger as you can get, so I don't think it should cause any problems, I have over 50 cycles on my little HK nanotechs and zero problem - (flightpower packs are supposed to be better quality), always charged using powerlab and I run max headspeed I can get on my 250.
