  • Is this thrust bearing knackered?

Is this bearing knackered or is it normal for the balls to move about out of the slots?

Now you have it out, I'd swap it anyway. Thrust bearings are not that expensive, might as well rebuild with new stuff. Doesn't look too clever, but hard to tell from a photo.

You can place the ball back into the socket and it will be fine as long as it dosent leave the socket again, I would also clean out that bearing and regrease. Usually the best way to check a thrust bearing like this is to put all three peices together and place on a level surface and push down and try to feel for any notichiness/roughness, also you should examine the tracks of each race to make sure that they are not pitted. If you need to you can buy replacements from places like rcbearings
          Long live the flybar.

Man that's annoying. I've got nothing to fly tomorrow :/ Needs a new feathering shaft too, as it's bent. No idea how though, it's never been crashed
