  • GYRO TAPE

Just a reminder, keep an eye on your gyro tape, renewed mine about a month ago and for 2 weeks model hasnt moved whilst waiting for a new engine. fitted new motor this morning and checked tape which was split! easily repaired but potentially disastrous!!!!!!
Its for reason just like this i always remove the canopy whilst charging, means you can have a quick check over between services. Ive noticed theres an increasing habit for the charging lead to be accessible to "save the bother of removing the canopy". well for the sake of a few minutes is it worth it?

    Agreed Chappers
Your preaching to the converted here, although I can not recall a gyro tape failure recently.
The real danger for me are set screws ! You must keep an eye on set screws they seem to have a mind of there own, and ability to unsrew themselves far beyond the exploits of Houdini !!!

      Amen to that one Kieth

I had a m2.5 bolt that holds the canopy support pylons on the frames of the rappy 90, needless to say the bugger unwond itself and locked the elevator cradle totally, Hey presto No Elevator control 8O and the resulting large and time consuming repair

      Cheers,

      Pete.
