Personally I prefer this one : Al's Hobbies - Hitec HFP-20 Digital Servo Programer

The etronix tester doesn't really seem to do much that you can't do already with your TX and a receiver.

I would go as far as saying that it does less than a tx/rx approach. I made a tester once but it told you the signal details using LCD display and could also take the Rx output or generate its own signals. Even then it was more a project rather than a practical tool as I use the Servo graphing on my Tx for everything else.

I would save your money for something else...

Yes I use that one and it's great for what I do with it.

I don't use it to set up heli's, but great for centreing a servo. I mainly use it for planks, so I can check for binding etc, and also good to check servos out if you suspect a gear is broken.

If you think it's worth the money you are paying for it, then go ahead. I am pleased with mine.

I just placed an order for this one.

            Midland Helicopters Ltd NewItems_NewItems

Does a few more bits so should be good for what I want and for £30 cant go wrong tbh.

I have a small 4 cell nicad flat pack Velcro'd to bottom of my tester, then that way I can just plug it in and use it without having to hunt for a battery.

The Hitec one has a NiMh pack built in, but I must say I like the price and functions of the Etronix Pro 7 linked above. If I was buying right now I suspect that would be my choice.

I have never had one before and it will just simplify things. The tester bit, option 7 I think is what I like as well about this one.
