these price are a steal, consider Vat, shipping, margin and warehouse cost looks like the stuff is next to free in the wholesale market.

Sav, I use actual Velcro from Farnels the difference in holding power is incredible and lasts for a long time.

Not too expensive either but so worth it

I use the wide stuff for my 5000 packs and the thinner stuff on everything else

I also use the Farnell hook and eye. I use the 20mm for everything and 10 metres lasts a long time. The adhesive used on the tape does seem to vary amongst different makes and I have found that the Farnell tape does hold very well.

I would actually use real Velcro, I find others tend to come up or loose their hold over time.. I just bought a box of Velcro on Amazon.

even velcro will do the same mate, give it a few months. at work we have the same problem, this is caused mainly due to heat cycling. we use Velcro extensively to mask prototype cars on public roads and they peel off after a couple of drives. every time you drive the engines gets hot and then cold on switch off, this weakens the glue and the hooks out time. the same happens to lipos, hot on flight and then cold.
we then tried 3M these were worst. the glue is a hit and miss and ages just sitting on the shelf as well. some time they just wont stick as it was old stock.

if you ask me they all the same, if you have noticed that velcro on other parts of the heli dont peel of like on the batts.

Velcro is just the guys who commercially came out with it first and in wholesale they cost the same as all the other. we get it for less than 50p a meter at work. just that no one sells by the meter.

My Velcro tape has been on the same heli holding the lipos in, being changed loads for over a year with no loss in performance, the tape I've had on before (Align tape) with the same surface area was not the same .

Ben, i have seen Velcro from Velcro mate, its one of our basic tools at work .

The straps from modelaccessories.co.uk are fantastic and great value, don't know about there sticky strips of Velcro as I get it from a dress shop in a local market for 99p a meter 25mm wide. Sticks well and doesn't peel off only problem after many months of use the fluffy side goes a bit pulled and doesn't work as well.

B&Q have loose hook/loop on reels by the length so you can buy whichever you're short of and cut yourself (always worth making your meter or two a tad longer for a free bit)
