Futaba s9257 broken?

Hello

I have a Futaba s9257 servo, it seems to have an issue. It moves really fast in one direction then slowly in the opposite direction. I have tried plugging it into the cyclic channels and also tried testing it on a servo tester and it does the same thing. I think the servo is toast?

Anybody seen this before?

Could be worn gears, or more likely the gear bearings causing the gears to misalign when moving in in one direction maybe.

Ye I might open it up and check that, there is only the one bearing it in though? Or do you mean the bearings inside under the gears where you can't get access to?

Sorry using the term bearing was probably a bit misleading. What I mean is, any pivot point that's worn with age, or cracked / damaged from a crash etc.

The gears sit on small pivot pins which in turn locate in the case lower body and upper cap. If these are worn or damaged the gears might be misaligning when rotating in one particular direction causing the leaves of the gears to stop engaging with each other correctly.

Failing that, it could just be ckufed ...
