  • My second Heli!

I was just wandering the other day what would be a good helicopter to use after progressing from a E-flite Blade CX2! Someone tol me that a raptor 50 would be a good heli to get next, he sed they look good to fly and hover nicely. This is coming from a person who has been flying helis for a long time! What do u addict's think is the best heli to progress onto next?? After all i am after the best bit of kit to suit my needs.
If you ain't got nothin nice to say. Don't say Nothin!

Well Raptor 50 Titan nice machine and personelly I think it makes a good 1st nitro machine. Out of the box you won't need to do a lot to it. Once your into heading into 3D it needs the metal head upgrade.

If thats what other Club members fly Raptors and you can get help with the Raptor then it makes sense. Having someone that can help set it up is always good.

Get a 401gyro and 9254 servo for it as well. O.S Hyper engine and other servos to begin with 3152's will do until you move onto the mad stuff.

        Hey,
In the past i would have said raptor 50, and if everyones flying them then i would proberbly say go with them, always been a big fan of them untill i got my T-rex 600 Sport

I have to admit maybe i'm being a little bitter after my raptor killed itself for no reason atall but after having been a raptor only kinda guy for so many years and having been getting used to a 600N i would have to say i'm very impressed with the 600.
Its far more modern, the sports cheaper than the titon, the kits more comprehensive and i hate to say it but after the metal head, eccpm upgrade, 9451's 720 etc etc, the 600 flies better than a tweaked rappy and yet it seems can be set up nice and docile (although hes comming off a little leccy heh).

In regards as to where to fly, i recently left my club but have many places in my area where i know the land owners and being a long way from anything i would say their pretty good flying spots, if not a touch lonley heh.

All this said and done though....
Head over to BMFA and i can assure you that you could find an R50 ready to role for next to nothing that would be more than enough for you to handle

It takes a rather long time to learn to outfly a 50 haha...

        Regards

                I have to admit...
it is nice and i do get a lot more flying done on my lonesome... but i do somewhat miss the social aspects of a club...

But i'm soon off to uni so there'll be very little opportunity to fly my nitros

once you have found a good club take a look at the knight 50 sport

its cheaper and flies better than the raptor. titan will need between 100 and 200ukp worth of upgrades as your skills improve, knight will not.
