Lithium polymer is lithium ion (the full name for a LiPoly is Lithium Ion Polymer, we just for some reason drop the "ion" bit).

Indeed, but they are still different technologies with different applications. A li-ion polymer batttery (as we use) and a true Li-ion battery are two different animals. Similar, but different. The electrolytes are different, as is the structure of the case.

I can't see which type (or both) this technology is aimed at from the website...

I bet these dont run on lipos half a ton and airbourne for 24 hrs at a time I bet they go a bit as well.............

It's not flight times that stopping me switching, it's charge times. Until the time comes that I can charge a 12S pack in the same time it takes me fill the tank of one of my 90's, without any long term loss of performance or needing a power station just to charge at that rate, then I'll be stopping with nitro.

you've hit the nail on the head here
plus you can't see how much fuel is left in a battery unlike a nitro or petrol powered heli
the battery could have one remaining flight or 100 flights to go but you'll never know until you try and use it
