  • Dumb setup question.

    Evening all.
Right, I replaced the head on my 400 electric (Don't know the model, no stickers or nuffink on it).
Now, I'm trying to setup the pitch, elev and cyclic so it flies straight and I'm having a problem.
With it spinning nose in when I pitch forward (right stick) the flybar pitches forward and goes right slightly, backwards and the opposite happens i.e. back and to the left slightly.
Am I right in thinking that if I push forward the disc should stay level but tilt forward and vice versa?
I've leveled the Swash, set the pitch of the blades.
What do I need to adjust to even it out?
    Mixer arms or washout?
    Or both?
I don't want to take it to the shop 'cos I'm stubborn and would like to do it myself (with a little help from some of you knowledgable sorts).

    Cheers,
    Duncan.

Are all the links to the head ad 90deg to the swashplate? It sounds like it's not just pushing 'up' but 'across' as well.

The other possibility is the links are too tight, and movement is causing it to kind of stress itself over the pivot centre, and on its way back, finding any 'loose' that it can which is only available by moving sideways.

Poor description, but I hope you can imagine the scenario I'm trying fruitlessly to describe!

    Cheers - Rob

Cheers for that, I've just found the same question in the zoom forum.
I'll take it apart and start with a clean canvass.

Aha, it's a Zoom then. Snap - I have one too - or at least it used to be. The only Zoom part I have now is the white main gear. If it's one of the blue CNC aluminium heads it's probably a Sonix. Where did you get it from? I haven't had any issues with mine, and it flies like a dream.

          Got it!
The hub slider had rotated slightly, so the washout wasn't in line with the blades.
Dumb question answered, not a mistake I'll make again.
          Thanks for the help.

          Duncan.
