    Hi All
I dont want to start an all out war........!!

Up at the 'field' today, they were recommending Reflex as the sim I shud buy!!
They were saying that the 'Phoenix' was 'jumpy'. They were saying that 'Phoenix' was good for planes but Reflex was 'far better' for heli learning.........What do you think??
As always I'd like your thoughts before I spend my money

Well, only having Phoenix it's a little difficult for me to make a educated judgement.

So it's gotta be PHOENIX then :-)

You`ve gone an opened a can of worms now

I had Reflex for quite a while, didn`t get on with it at all.
Flogged it on ebay and bought G3.5.
Learned nose in hovering within a couple of half hour goes.

Learned inverted hovering(nose in and side on) in 2 weeks.

It has transformed my heli flying.
Love the fact that it has it`s own Tx, just turn it on and away you go.
Never seemed to be so easy with reflex.
      The models never felt right.
G3.5 models feel pretty close to actual flying.

As a reflex owner my advice would be to buy PHOENIX due down to it being much better in everyway but also just ask the folks at reflex for some product support.....all I got along with other users was a snotty e-mail.

So avoid it like the plague and just remember if you want any further updates then you had best be buying the latest version as the older one is no longer supported.....nuff said

buy once buy right!!!!! just get phoenix and be done with it.

The guys at your field probably say reflex coz they already have it and just dont want to admit they made the wrong choice, Go with phoenix just the online flying with other people is worth it

I'd agree. I swapped my Reflex XTR for a Futaba receiver! Now using Phoenix.

Jumpiness is down to a cr@p pc - mine is a good spec machine and runs buttery smooth.

XTR has little in the way of support. Phoenix support guys are there at the end of an email, and reply 100%. And, updates are regular!

The Phoenix on-line is brilliant, you can learn from others even and watch their sticks on the screen.

            Draw your own conclusion!

            Cheers - Rob

Owned both, phoenix wins hands down. Might not have the huge number of models & scenery available like reflex but in every other department it's better plus it's made in the UK by people who seem to have a genuine desire to get it as near perfect as possible... oh and it's cheaper.

                    What's G3.5?

Does it plug straight into the TV with no computer?

the good thing about realflight g3.5 is you can download it for free and use a joystick dongle so you can use your joystick to emulate a transmitter, then you get an old transmitter and transplant the guts of your joystick over to your TX and bingo, or you could go out and buy it, either way it does the job very well. i have to keep reminding myself its just a simulator its so real.

realflight g3.5 is more of a game than a sim imo. G4 just seems to be a bunch of pretty bits rather than any improvements to the physics.

im supprised at your clubmates saying phoenix is jumpy. its more efficient on cpu usage than reflex and the physics for both helis and fixed wing kick reflex into touch.

finally the customer support kicks arse too.

This is the icing on the cake, the Sim is already the best on the market and the support is a lesson to all the other companies on how it should be done..

My dongle packed up last week after much use, owned Phoenix since it came out,i am fortunate enough to be based in Poole so i dropped into their place and said hello, they gave me a brand new lead without a moments hesitation, this kind of customer support goes way beyond what many companies offer..

I take my hat off to all of the team and would recommend their products whole heartedly...

I have owned Reflex also but it wasnt a patch on V1 of Phoenix let alone the latest version
