Why????

Simple question:

Why was THIS post moved to debates when like most people i believe it was not a debate?

There was only 1 person that made it personal. There have been many threads with much more personal attacks than this and they have gone un-modded/unmoved. The OP did not retaliate either so why? Moving it out of NORMAL public view to a section of the forum that can only be accessed by searching for it is in my opinion the start of a slippery slope.

I believe the subject matter was and is valid and comes under the description of "main discussion". If you look at the post, the OP is at a loss because he believes he has been banned due to a valid and important poll/post (castle creations). I find it hard to believe that FL would resort to this kind of behaviour but if it turns out to be true then surely it is CENSORSHIP.

This is not about Fastlads, Gareth or Ben but about freedom of expression.

I am always harping on about how great this forum is and how well it is modderated. In fact i have introduced many people to this forum because i believe in it. I have respect and admiration for Stuart and count him as a friend. However i believe that the decision to move the post is wrong. i have a right to express my view and i am doing just that.


If anyone takes exception to my comments or wants to contact me directly to bash me or not i am easy to get a hold of and stand by what i say:

There are a number of reasons.
1. First of all, although it was about heli related stuff at the end of the day it is a greivance between a customer and a retailer and in my opinion was jumping the gun in airing such a thing in public without
really knowing all the facts. ---just to add; Having said that, I am not blaming Gareth as I am sure he is genuinely puzzelled and annoyed and his post was more asking the question, but unfortunately
these things often open the door for less good-natured or balanced responses.
2. It was then turning into a bit of a 'us vs them' thing with people taking sides and once again
doing so without the facts and without a response from the other side.
3. It then became a vehicle for a personal grievance between forum members.

So the point being we really have to keep that sort of thing in check as it has damaging
effects for the forum and we want to preserve the casual, friendly and helpful atmosphere
we have all come to enjoy here.

I would like to see a post when all the facts are available, right now it just seems to be a rant.

because if this is an open forum and i dont like a product and i have reason voice my opinion on it, i dont want to get barred from a shop selling/distributing the product

I'd hate for this forum to become a place where only 'good news' was allowed and any negative thoughts had to be hidden away in dark corners.

If we are only allowed to praise a retailer when they do good, but have to stay silent when something odd happens we will have lost one of the great things about this place.

I still hope this is just some random error and not a policy decision on their part so I'm holding out for a good result even as it feels less likely as each hour passes.

& snipeing from certain members who I had respect for previous to his post wasnt required.
Half the members here buggered off to talkheli but it seems all the morons are still here.

Why does it matter what section it is in, its not being hidden or deleted , we can all chose to follow it add to it or ignore it, we really shouldn't be turning this on Stuart or the way the forum is run. We are lucky to have the freedom we have on here and should appreciate it and the time people give up to help run it

I agree about the selfish members , but not everyone will know about his problems.

But buggered off to Talk Heli ???? I don't think so most of us are members of both and the postcount at TH sadly isn't that high, but the same thread about FL is there too.

Like I said earlier (or in another post), only FL can tell them why they have been banned. The rest is just pure speculation.
