I have used KLMS several times and the service is excellent. If you want something quickly then their use of a courier fits the bill. They are one of several shops I try to share my purchases with and they have some very good deals even when you add in the courier service.

I also use other shops such as Raj at align who is brilliant for fast turnaround of kit and always seems to have the smaller bits too!

Then Midland because they have large stocks.

I know my small purchases don't keep them all in business BUT the point is unless we all support our UK based stores we will only have ourselves to blame when the choice becomes more limited.

    Only my opinion of course!

Nope, don't see the issue myself either.

I always try to order something worthwhile ordering if thats the case. Would much prefer all my stuff via courier as you then KNOW it will arrive when it should. Also from the company's point of view you don't know if they have had RM lose packages? If this is the case then over time they would be losing money. I know where I work we only use courier and granted 99% of our orders are well over a few £00 so it makes it worthwhile but the decision was made after many parcels going missing with the post office over a period of time.

If I had an issue I would go to a shop and pick them up or shop elsewhere and it certainly would not put me off from using them again over what I would consider the most of minor issues but this is only my opinion

i personally have no issues with KLM doing this, for small items there are much better places to go that know they only sell small items so postage is cheap accordingly or they would get no business...........makes sense.

        cheers

But, if i was a LHS owner, personally speaking of course, 50p is a bit of a lame exmple to put a point across, most people dont order something of the value of 50p, the avereage is £3 or £4, now, if i were a store owner, would i prefer 30 orders of £4 over one order of £30 per week ? dam right.

the poster above me said it perfectly, i have wanted to order things from KLM in the past, and to be honest, dont even bother looking there anymore at all, even if i do want something of larger order.

Supporting your LHS is a good thing, that support works both ways.

Most things like 5 or 6 props can be sent for less than a pound, 5 or 6 props at the ones i get are 1.95 each, so they have plenty profit there even if you took away the jiffy bag and label, granted, it may be a hassle taking trips to the post office, but hey thats business, you either want the money or you dont really.

Well I would say dam wrong. If you have to spend the same amount of time per order, then the sensible business man/woman would take the one £30 order, and do something much more productive with the time they would have spent chasing the 30 orders.

As I said before, you have to factor peoples time into this, and when it is a business rather than just selling off stuff you dont want anymore on ebay, time really is money. I think P&P has to be fair, to both parties. if KLM offered P&P at a lower rate, their prices would have to go up to balance things out for the profit margin to stay the same.

£6 for the convenience of having something delivered directly to you isnt much really, and as I pointed out in my previous post, probably a lot less than it would cost you to go and get it yourself.

your assuming people have a LHS and more so assuming that they stock what we need. in reality most don't nor can they compete. the distributors and the manufacturers are setup on quantity discount which does not suit smaller LHS's. simple economics so my "lame" example is very valid like it or not. i've been in this game a while and i know a few shop owners personally and some of the orders they get would make you think why bother. however they take the rough with the smooth as that is part of the business.

if you don't like their postage/W.H.Y then don't order, simples.

            cheers
