So of course all the 2.4Ghz radios will vanish from europe eh? while despite conforming to the EEC 2.4Ghz transmission/reception rules they will be dangerous one side of the belgian border and not the other, but meanwhile they will be safe in the USA?
This is the problem when the folks running the country are all qualified in Ancient Greek literature and not science. The strongest lobby gets their way despite all scientific arguments.www.heli-extreme.co.uk a good club in south Sheffield

I think the people who made the petition are grossly misinformed. As far as I know there is no usage restriction of the 2.4GHz band but there are rules of how it should be used (spread spectrum modulation and transmitted power level). In the UK only recently the power level limit was increased to 100mW which is now sufficient for RC.… the answer is simple, the lobbying of the manufacturers of WLAN products is more important than the RC and especially in a small country…
Even though several devices can use the same spectrum simultaneously by increasing the power level the background noise increases for everyone. This is why the regulatory authorities were sceptical in allowing 100mW. But do you really think they allowed this in UK for a bunch of RC modellers in expense if everyone else? The regulatory authorities do get a lot of pressure from WiFi manufactures etc that want to increase the performance of their products. I think the people in Belgium should sit back and wait. The change will happen. Most likely it is already considered.
Oh… and by the way. By signing this petition you are just giving someone you don’t know a list of addresses where expensive helicopters are kept!
